THEATRICAL CAVE PROVENCE
Evocative of a sculptural temple carved within a geometrical cave. These magnificent high walls, legacy of a productive quarry past, embrace an austere yet grandiose space, transformed for the occasion into a unique wedding reception venue.
Beautifully planned by Creative Directors Les Grands Moments with Fleurs de Fee and documented by Felicia Sisco, this French editorial is contemporary, atmospheric and theatrical. The soft yet intentional light design fills the space with romantic drama just like an opera scenography, a stage that seems ready to host elephants and the triumphant march of Aida is instead outfitted for a unique wedding reception.
Now a cultural center, the Carrières de Lumières site is located at the foot of the village of Les Baux-de-Provence, in the heart of the Alpilles, in a place filled with mystery: the Val d’Enfer.
Les Baux stone is a slightly calcareous limestone, fine-grained, and usually white or blonde in colour, with the candle light reflection it acquires a soft pink hue. It is following this direction that antique rose and cinnamon palette roses contrasting with white phalaenopsis orchids were used in a romantic and rich floral design blending with the rest of the tablescape elements which are all minimal and contemporary.
The stationery design is organic and minimal, austere yet rich in texture evoking the limestone walls of the surroundings. Earthy and neutral palette marries in an effortless and cohesive way with the overall concept.
